Sam Y. Chung, Ph.D. (정삼영 교수)
Head of AIF APAC, AIF Global and the AIF Institute
Sam Chung is a Professor of Finance at Yonsei University's Graduate School of Information in Seoul, Korea. Dr. Chung has led the AIF APAC as its Head since 2022. Prior to joining Yonsei University, he had spent nearly two decades at Long Island University in NY, US as a Professor of Finance (tenured since 2005). In 2014, he founded the Korea Alternative Investment Research Institute (KAIRI) partnered with the Korea Financial Investment Association (KOFIA) to research and teach alternative investments for Korean institutional investors. He has advised Korean public and private asset owners including NPS, KIC, Korea-Post, and other Mutual Aids Associations. He has also deeply involved in the Nation's Alternative Investments and regulatory policy making process having advisory roles in Korea Financial Services Commission and Financial Supervisory Services. Dr. Chung received his Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Massachusetts - Amherst, MSF from Boston College, and MBA from Illinois State University.
